Contagious all arrived at around
11am at the studio in Welland. All the band came with packed lunches which
are a must when recording for a day.
To Joe tried out SRP's own electric drum kit to see if he needed to use
his. He was happy with the kit.The band set up their equipment mainly
the keyboards (Ross) as the guitarist (Dani) and bassist (Alex) used SRP's
amps.
The band then started running
through all the songs they wanted to play in the live area of the studio.
With Vocalist (Toni) singing a guide track.
The approach to the junior recording was very different to the seniors.
It was easier for them to record all the instruments together which was
mainly down to using he electric kit.
The band rehearsed the Green
Day track they had chosen then when they were happy went for a take. It
sounded great but as they warmed up they played it better the 2nd time.
As soon as they were all happy with the track they went on to the next
song by the Fratellis. They ended up doing two more tracks by Journey
and Scouting For Girls using the same process. Rehearse, record then have
a listen.
S soon as all the back was
recorded, Toni began putting down the vocals. She did a great job and
got most of the songs spot on each time. Dani sang on the Scouting for
Girls track with Toni on backing vocals.
The band really enjoyed themselves.
They were very professional and well rehearsed on the day. The end result
sounded great. Well done all round.
Thanks to the guys at SRP for doing a great job again!
